St. Louis, MO – International Cybernetics (ICC) was in the City of St. Louis, MO from Aug 29 – Sept 1 for the 2021 PWX show, themed Stronger Together. ICC was represented by our Operations Manager, Mr. Chase Fleeman and Pavement Engineer Dr. Danilo Balzarini, Ph.D. They participated in various sessions, explored the exhibit hall, and were happy to catch up with our customers and partners in person!

Gathering the latest knowledge in the industry, an educational session of particular interest was Pavement Preservation. The topic was presented by the National Center for Asphalt Technology at Auburn University team. Describing methods to extend pavement life and NCAT research study results on “determining the life-extending benefit of various preservation treatments as a function of initial condition, traffic level and climate” were shared by industry professionals Mr. Buzz Powell Auburn University Research Professor, NCAT Associate Director, and Ms. Adriana Vargas-Nordcbeck, Auburn University Assistant Research Professor.

The principle of Pavement Preservation incorporates preventive maintenance, minimal rehabilitation, and regular maintenance activities to restore the existing system’s function and extend pavement service life. Some valuable benefits to following pavement preservation guidelines include extending existing pavement life, lower costs, increased road safety, improved network health, better environmental impacts, and enhanced sustainability.

It was nice connecting with everyone in St. Louis, we are stronger together!
